John Weatherford Jr.

	John Weatherford Jr., age 76, of Pinckneyville, passed away Saturday morning, August 4, 2001 in the Pinckneyville Healthcare Center.
	John was born January 31, 1925 in Pinckneyville, the son of John P. and Mary Jane (Mansker) Weatherford.  He was united in marriage to Dorothy Lee Silbe on April 16, 1948 and she survives.
	 John was a veteran of the U.S. Army during W.W. II, worked as a coal miner with Arch Minerals of Pinckneyville and was a member of the UMWA.  He was also a member of the Beaucoup Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Pinckneyville.  He was a lifelong resident of Pinckneyville.
	John is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Pinckneyville; one son, Jon Weatherford and wife Jeannie, also of Pinckneyville; one daughter, Leah Weatherford and husband Ron of Chicago; two brothers, Frank Weatherford and wife Laura and Robert Weatherford, both of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Mary Jane Weatherford of Pinckneyville and Junabeth Brunson and husband Fred of Belleville; four grandchildren, Lori Weatherford, Kari Forshee, Marty Powelko and Ryan Erwin and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Hagston, Sidney Forshee and Cooper Forshee.  John was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Howard.
	Funeral services were Tuesday, August 7 at 11 a.m. at the Beaucoup Baptist Church in Pinckneyville with Reverend James O. Mathenia officiating.  Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
	Friends called at the Beaucoup Baptist Church in Pinckneyville Monday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until services.
	Memorials may be made to the American Parkinsons Disease Association.
	Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville was in charge of arrangements.
